Best Chinese Restaurant in the Mon Valley. Lunch menu offers decent prices on mammoth sized meals. The Dinner menu is a littlest more $ but the meals are literally for 2. The service is always exceptional and have never had a bad experience in over 15 years of being a customer.

DD and I went in Friday evening (around 7) for a late dinner, it was crowded when we got there. Within half an hour, it pretty much cleared out. We realized they were a lot of people just chatting that finally left. She ordered shrimp fried rice (as usual), and I decided to get sushi (3 flavors) with a cup of wonton soup. My wontontons were HUGE! Three bites each! And the broth was mild deliciously accented with chives for a touch of heat. Her plate was enough for two whole meals, and my sushi was was also after the soup. I brought my fresh ginger shavings home (not brave enough to eat them there). Black oolong tea and ice water completed the meal perfectly. Can't wait to go back! Fast, friendly service. Always great food. I try something new each time!

Little Bamboo is my fav chinese restaurant in the Western PA Area. The value on the lunches is phenomenal. I typically get the Sweet and Sour chicken and fried rice, and sometimes crab rangoon. It's always delicious. The servers are fantastic. They also have online ordering for takeout now which is convenient, but last time I ordered online I bought several more items to try since I could see the whole menu...good for them but bad for my pocketbook (does anyone use that term anymore?).

I have been here only a few times with my cousin, and brother. Every time we went, we went for sushi. Which they prepare and then bring out to you. Also when your there you get offered tea. I'm not sure what kind, but it's nice how they bring out a metal kettle, so you can pour your own tea into nice tea cups. The workers are always nice and check on you every now, and then. Good place for getting a nice prepared meal, Not to scarf down mountains of food. All in all I give this place a 4 of 5 Stars :)

Little Bamboo is a quaint lil Chinese/Japanese restaurant with a wide selection of food, including Sushi. I've had various dishes there and have never been disappointed. My fav dish is the moo shu chicken. But u can't go wrong with any selection. u can also have them adjust the spicy level of the dish if u don't like a lot of heat.

Beautiful decor and good eats. I can't get over the fact that this place shut down for awhile when I was just a kid and everyone told me it was because they were serving cats. Of course this was unfounded and just an example of my awesome familys dark humor. I've been back a handful of times and the food is really good, but not better than Yummy. Bamboo may be a bit fancier but taste is what matters.

I like Little Bamboo. :) My very first Chinese food experience was here as a very young child, so it holds a special place in my heart. For the Mon Valley, which is a tad more country (not dissing it, but just saying that restaurant culture is not as prevalent here- hell, the countryside is beautiful enough!). While staying with my fam for a lonnnng weekend getaway, I had a hankering for the wonton soup, which is awesome!!! Lovely broth and delicate wontons- nice and balanced. Portions are great as well. Then, I read that they now serve sushi?! First thought: ugh, hell no. Second thought: don't be a pompous ass- try it! Ordered the Rainbow Roll, a common staple in sushi eating culture. Not bad at all. Fresh, nice portion but just a tad warm for my taste. The service is very cordial and polite- check it out if you are in the area!

I ordered takeout so I didn't really look at much of the restaurant other than the front counter. I ordered Chicken Lo Mein. When we came in, the food was bagged and ready (and still hot after my 15 minute drive home). It was very good, but was incredibly greasy. I will order again but try some other items from the menu.

I haven't eaten here in a looong time so hopefully nothing has changed. They made the absolute best Chicken Fried Rice. Sure, you say how hard could it be? Can one place actually make better fried rice than everyone else? Actually they can. The best I can figure is everyone else takes puffy rice from the steamer and then fries it. Little Bamboo however makes the rice fresh for fried rice. The difference is amazing. Not sticky but savory. I wish I could be more specific but trust me, unless it's changed, it truly is the best. It's a smallish restaurant in a plaza so not exactly high end. Standard fare Chinese menu, but notable dishes apart from the incomparable fried rice is the perfect Singapore Rice Noodles and General Tsos. I never travel that way anymore but I carried one of their paper menus in my car for a decade.

I came to Little Bamboo by chance when driving around the area. The place is very cozy and is clear by sight they have been in that location for a long time. They have sushi besides the traditional Chinese menu. We ordered the Philadelphia roll which was very tasty as it's made with smoked salmon which isn't as common but adds some uniqueness to it. Aso we had the eel and cucumber roll which was ok but as usual most of the flavour came from the pseudo teriyaki sauce. The portions for the rolls where decent and the filling / rice ratio was acceptable. Overall an ok place to.eat asian style.food IN THE AREA

Usually, Little Bamboo would be getting a 4-5 star rating but today...Let me tell you about today. My wife and I walk in and it's business as usual, Pork Fried Rice and Sushi Regular. Both normally very, very good. Upon getting my plate of sushi, a foul odor emanated from the plate as it passed my face to the table. Since, I didn't know of any brothels in the area where ladies of the night did business nearby, I assumed it was my sushi. One by one I sniffed each piece, all fine until I got to the so-called "red snapper". Now, I may look like an ignorant American slob but I'm the farthest thing from. I attempted to replace the "snapper" because I wasn't ready to have violent diarrhea or vomit today. The lady at the front desk comes over and says that she couldn't resell the 2 pieces I had due to it being already made and on my plate, to which I thought "Why would you anyway?" then she proceeded to list all the fish on my plate as if this were my first time eating sushi anywhere. She eventually obliged and gave me ONE piece of tuna as a replacement. Our waiter came back around to further insult my intelligence by adding that the "red snapper" is a milder fish that people don't normally like, to which I said that I've had red snapper plenty of other places and it NEVER smelled like the inside of a dead vagina (paraphrasing, of course). In short, don't order the "red snapper" it's actually TILAPIA!

Little Bamboo is based in a strip mall near a Ollies Discount store and a Giant Eagle. Not the most promising beginning; as I approached the place for the first time, I was expecting to see one of those $ 0.99 places that serve you tiny portions on a styrofoam plate. I was completely wrong. Instead, Little Bamboo has an elegant ambiance, with attractive wooden furniture and halogen lighting. It wouldn't pass muster in LA, but where it is it looks almost chic. Unusually for independent restaurants in Pittsburgh, the food is very good, if not outstanding. Best dishes are the simpler ones like Cashew Chicken and Kung Pao chicken. Conspicuously high quality ingredients are used. Again, unlike many Pittsburgh restaurants, the place is very clean. So why does this not get five stars, at least for the area? Because the service is indifferent to hostile. Despite going there every day for a couple of months, nobody seemed particularly happy to see me. One day, I was very thirsty and asked for a third refill on my soda. The waiter said "We don't give more refills" and departed. I thought he was joking, but I never got my refill. For a customer dropping close to $20 a day there that seemed rather unreasonable. In the end, it's hard not to recommend this place against outstandingly poor competition in the area and Pittsburgh as a whole. But beware the service, and don't come when you're thirsty.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
